commentThe Dallas Independent School District awarded Houston-based Satterfield & Pontikes Construction a $40-million contract to build the new W.H. Adamson High School. Designed by Dallas-based Corgan Associates, the three-story school is expected to take two years to complete.
The facility will replace the existing Adamson High School, one of the oldest school buildings in Dallas. It will be built adjacent to the current campus.
The job includes construction of the 223,000-sq-ft high school and industrial technology building, sports facilities and renovation of an existing wing.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $14.1-million contract to Satterfield & Pontikes to build the new Army Reserve Center in The Woodlands. It is targeted for a summer 2012 completion.
