commentHouston-based KBR’s subsidiary, M.W. Kellogg Ltd., entered into a license and basic engineering design agreement with Kawasaki Plant Systems Ltd. for the Mary Project, an anticipated grassroots ammonia and urea plants to be located in Turkmenistan.
MWKL’s services include developing a basic engineering design package and provisioning an ammonia license for the engineering, procurement and construction of the plants.
A state-owned enterprise of the Republic of Turkmenistan, Turkmenhimya is commissioning the effort, with support from Sojitz Corp.
Meanwhile, Vinnell, Brown & Root LLC a 50/50 joint venture between KBR and Northrop Grumman, was awarded a contract by the U.S. Air Force in Europe to provide base operations support services for in Turkey and Spain.
The Turkey-Spain Base Operations Contract is a fixed-price incentive firm target with performance incentive. Its potential value of $335 million over four and a half years includes program management, civil engineering, base services, logistics support, air terminal and ground handling, communications and occupational health/industrial hygiene.
