Bobcat loaders

Bobcat Co. recently introduced the K-Series skid-steer loaders (S130 through S300), compact track loaders (T140 through T300), and the A300 all-wheel steer loader.
New to the K-Series loaders is the SmartFAN cooling system, a hydraulically driven cooling fan that senses machine operating temperatures and then self-regulates to rotate only as fast as it needs to. The temperature-controlled, variable-speed fan optimizes the cooling needs of the loader and can be 30 percent quieter in some operating conditions.

A quieter machine reduces operator noise fatigue, allows for better communication with others outside the cab, and enables contractors to work longer days by complying with city noise ordinances.

The K-Series loaders continue to feature the Bobcat dual-path cooling system, which brings in cool, clean air from above through the oil cooler and radiator and pulls hot air from the engine and hydrostatic area exiting out two side vents. This design reduces dirt and debris restrictions in the cooling system and minimizes debris in the engine compartment.

Trimble grade control system

Trimble recently introduced a new version of its 3D Grade Control System. The enhanced Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System is designed to provide contractors with increased flexibility and ease-of-use.

The enhanced Trimble GCS900 expands Trimble's bulk earthmoving and finished grading solutions for contractors. New features in Version 10 include the ATS Construction Total Station configuration for dozers, the Single GPS configuration for dozers, and the new Auto Side Shift option for motor grader blades. Additionally, the new graphical Trimble CB430 in-cab display demonstrates Trimble's continued commitment to developing easy-to-use, highly flexible productivity solutions.

Using the Trimble GCS900 lets contractors use a common platform across their entire fleet for all phases of earthmoving. This capability can significantly improve productivity, from mass excavation to finished grading.

Vermeer stump cutter

Committed to providing better solutions to the environmental industry, Vermeer Manufascturing Co. recently reintroduced the SC352 stump cutter with new machine features. Targeted at filling the needs of contractors in the stump removal market, the SC352 offers four new features: a four-wheel drive option; 35 hp Briggs and Stratton Vanguard BIG BLOCK gasoline engine option; chip blade option; and standard oscillating front steering axle.

Controlled at the operator's station, the 4WD feature is an optional offering to provide improved traction in difficult ground conditions.

Another optional feature of the SC352 is a 35 hp Briggs and Stratton Vanguard BIG BLOCK gasoline engine. Compact in design, the SC352 boasts the power necessary for right-of-way clearing jobs, but remains versatile and lightweight to tackle those hard-to-reach stumps in the back yard. The standard 35-in. overall machine width allows the machine to fit through most standard backyard gates.

Helping eliminate the need for manual shoveling during job site cleanup is the optional chip blade. The blade, which can be lifted hydraulically from the operator's station, moves chips into the hole made after removing a stump, or can be used to aid in collection for hauling chips off site.
