Waste Handlers
Waste
handlers Caterpillar recently introduced the new 330C MH Waste Handler.
The new machines build on the field-proven 330CL, featuring a more robust
front linkage and upper frame, specially designed guarding to protect
the machine and operator and a cooling system configured to reduce plugging
and to allow easy cleaning. The counterweight is 25-percent heavier than
a standard 330CL counterweight.
The front linkage features a heavy-duty reach boom, heavy-duty 10.5-ft.
stick, maximum horizontal reach of 31 ft. 9 in. and maximum pin height
of 29 ft. The upper frame employs thick fabrications and high-strength
alloys in high-stress areas to handle high forces generated during waste
loading.
The specialized guarding includes a swivel guard and a swing-bearing
guard. Rubber bumpers protect sheet metal from being damaged while maneuvering
in tight areas. The optional falling-object guard protects the cab and
front windshield.
The side-by-side radiator and oil-cooler cores are separated to prevent
stacking of debris and allow easy access for cleaning. The stainless-steel-debris
screen traps material before it enters the cooling system. An automatically
reversing fan helps maintain airflow through the engine radiator. Another
auto-reversing fan works with the oil cooler. The turbine precleaner
has a trash screen to extend filter life and to reduce maintenance.
The 330C MH Waste Handler weighs 80,265 lbs. It is designed to work productively
with a 7.6-cu.-yd. trash grapple or a sorting grapple. For more information,

Reference Station Software
Reference
Station Software Leica Geosystems has announced the release of Version
1.5 of the Spider software for control of GPS reference stations and networks.
Spider V1.5 is designed specifically to support Leica's GRX1200 and GRX1200Pro
reference station receivers, which are based on the next-generation System
1200 technology. Designed to support GPS services for local areas including
cities, counties, communities, mines or construction sites, the software
package fulfills all requirements for the management, operation and continuous
monitoring of a network of GPS reference stations. For more information,

Vapor
Retarder
Vapor Retarder W.R. Meadows recently introduced the Perminator Underslab
Vapor-Mat, a new generation of resin/chemical technologies. Perminator
provides a highly effective, economical choice for helping to reduce the
penetration of moisture and water vapor through the slab into the structure,
helping to reduce fungus, mildew and mold growth.
This vapor retarder also helps reduce radon gas from entering the structure.
Perminator can withstand normal construction jobsite conditions and traffic.
It will not crack, puncture, snag, split or tear easily. Perminator helps
meet and maintain the maximum slab-moisture-transfer rate of 3 lbs./1,000
sq. ft./24 hours, allowed by the flooring-industry specifications. Perminator
is available in 15-m. and 10-m. thicknesses. Both versions are furnished
in 200-ft. (61-m.) long rolls.
