OSHA Head Joins Fisher & Phillips

Former Assistant Secretary of Labor joins labor and employment firm.

Fisher & Phillips LLP announced that former Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Edwin G. Foulke, Jr., has joined the firm. Foulke joins as a partner in the Workplace Safety and Catastrophe Management Practice Group. He graduated from North Carolina State University with honors in 1974, earned his law degree from Loyola University in 1978 and a master’s of law from Georgetown University in 1993. Fisher & Phillips also announced that Michael V. Abcarian, Jennine R. Lunceford, and Joseph W. Gagnon will be part of the firm-wide Workplace Safety and Catastrophe Management Practice Group.

SHW Group has hired Jim Luckey, AIA, LEED AP, as the new director of design. He will be responsible for overseeing designs for the firm’s worldwide higher education architecture projects.

WALTER P MOORE has announced that Matt Feagins, Jennifer Salgado, Abhijit Shah, and Ken Zarembski have been named principals of the firm.

Kirksey has promoted Nicola Springer, AIA, LEED, NCARB, to leader of the K-12 Education Team. Nicola received her bachelor's of arts in architecture from Princeton University and her master’s of architecture from Rice University.

The Beck Group added Tim Kuykendall as corporate safety director. For the past several years, he has helped Beck in a safety consulting role. Kuykendall recently retired at the rank of captain in the City of Grand Prairie Fire Department.

HKS Inc. named Kirk Teske named chief sustainability officer, responsible for promoting LEED accreditation of employees and the sustainable design of the firm’s projects worldwide. Also, HKS hired Jack Ford, AIA, ISDA as vice president and healthcare design director in HKS’s Dallas office. Ford specializes in programming, master planning, conceptual design and design development. Ford holds a bachelor’s of architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va.

SpawGlass has announced that Brian Emerson has been promoted to project executive.

F&S Partners Inc. announced the promotion of architects Elizabeth Holser, Patrick Jones, Clint Menefee and director of business development, Cynthia Brown, to associates.

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed ten members to the On-Site Wastewater Treatment Research Council: Sarah E. Kirksey; Brian L. Padden; Carl M. Russell Jr.; Sockalingam "Sam" Kannappan; Al Sulak; Janet R. Boone; Richard D. Gerard; Susan R. Johnson; Janet Dee Meyers; and Ronald J. Suchecki Jr. The council identifies and meets the research and technology transfer needs of individuals involved with wastewater treatment in Texas.

HDR’s Dennis Schulze of the firm’s Forth Worth office has been named South Central area rail leader. In his new role, Schulze will focus on marketing and delivering rail service. He holds a bachelor’s of science in civil engineering from Texas A&M, College Station, and a master’s of engineering in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.

HOBAS Pipe USA has promoted Kimberly Paggioli, P.E., to the position of vice president - Marketing and Quality Assurance. Paggioli received her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 1993 and a master’s in business administration from The University of St. Thomas, Houston in 2002.

Brown & Gay Engineers Inc. appointed Bud Brown, P.E., to vice president and office manager of the Fort Worth office. Brown earned a master’s of science in civil engineering from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s of science in forestry from the University of Georgia.
