Texas Firms Strengthen Teams; Professionals Achieve Honors
Promotions, new positions and recognition for A/E/C professionals include Fugro’s Yilmaz induction to LSU’s Civil and Environmental Hall of Distinction.
Turner Construction Co. has appointed Joe Glowacki vice president and general manager for Turner's Houston region. Glowacki will have overall responsibilities for implementation and delivery of Turner's Houston-area projects and will also be responsible for overall preconstruction services and business development. Glowacki holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Rutgers University.
Fugro Consultants Inc. announced that Recep Yilmaz has been inducted into the Louisiana State University Civil and Environmental Engineering Hall of Distinction. Yilmaz received his master's of science from LSU in 1981. As senior vice president, Yilmaz leads the company's Geosciences Division in the Louisiana, Houston and Los Angeles offices.
Walker Parking Consultants announced that Michael Civitelli has joined the company as a parking consultant in the firm's Airport Group.
Smith Seckman Reid Inc. has promoted Carl Crow and Jeremy Jones to vice president in the firm's Houston office. Crow is responsible for the management and direction of the education, science and technology design team. Crow received a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering and mathematics from the University of Texas, Austin. Jones received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. Chris Miller was brought on as vice president in the firm's Houston office. He received his bachelor's of business administration and master's of business administration from Webster University. David Heideman was promoted to vice president in the firm's Dallas office. Heideman is responsible for the overall management of a multi-discipline design team of project managers, engineers and engineering technicians. He received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. Luis Cortes has joined as a senior project manager and senior electrical engineer in the firm's Dallas office. Cortes is responsible for the design of lighting systems, emergency power systems and power distribution. He received his bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering from Southern Illinois University.
Walton Construction Co. LLC announced the promotion of Mike Williams from estimator to manager of pre-construction services. He earned his bachelor's of science in civil engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla.
Stanley Consultants has hired Sonny Krause, P.E., as a project principal. Krause is a licensed professional engineer in Texas and Oklahoma and earned his bachelor's of science in electrical engineering from Texas A&I University, now Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
Cherry Cos. has named Joel Gutierrez chief financial officer. Gutierrez earned his bachelor's of business administration in accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University.
