Tellepsen has expanded its executive roster by appointing Bob Bunning to oversee the company's spectrum of quality programs. In his new role, Bunning is responsible for the implementation and oversight of Tellepsen's Quality Assurance/Quality Control program that includes plans and specifications, peer reviews, submittal reviews, mock-up inspections as well as on-going site inspections at every Tellepsen project. Bunning has more than 34 years of commercial and industrial construction experience, including 28 years with Tellepsen where he previously served as safety director and risk manager.


The Cement Council of Texas recently announced the addition of Matthew W. Singel, P.E., as its director of Soil-Cement/ RCC programs. Singel comes from the Southeast Cement Association, where he held the position of specialty pavements engineer. Singel's responsibilities will be to expand the use of cement in soil stabilization, recycling failed asphalt pavements, soil-cement and roller compacted concrete pavements. He will provide promotion and technical support to state and local public works agencies, engineers, and developers for cement-based technologies. Singel graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's of science in civil engineering technology.


HDR Inc. recently promoted Alberto Rodriguez, P.E., to water section manager in the firm's San Antonio office. Rodriguez's responsibilities include day-to-day operations of the water section, including staff development, profitability, quality control and marketing support. He holds two bachelor's degrees from Texas A&M University - one in civil engineering and one in economics.


Pape-Dawson Engineers Inc. recently announced the promotion of Dr. Troy M. Dorman, P.E., to vice president, Water Resources. Dorman received his bachelor's degree in hydrology from Tarleton State University. He went on to receive his master's of science degree in civil engineering and his doctorate in water resources from Texas Tech University. He leads a team of engineers and technicians in water resources engineering, data management, surface and groundwater hydrologic modeling, hydrologic design and erosion control.


Stanley Consultants has elected Tom Morgan, P.E., as vice president. Morgan is manager of the company's Austin office. He is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the office, as well as employee mentoring and client business development. Morgan has a mechanical engineering degree from Iowa State University.


Gray Construction recently announced that Rob Cullison joined the firm as the business development manager for its Southwest Region. Cullison will work out of the firm's Austin office, and will be responsible for the pursuit of new projects and strategic accounts for the industrial design/build firm. Prior to joining Gray, Cullison worked for Austin Commercial in Dallas. Cullison is a graduate of Texas A&M University.


WALTER P MOORE recently announced that Mark C. Waggoner, P.E., has been chosen the 2006 recipient of the firm's Javier F. Horvilleur Outstanding Young Engineer Award. The award is presented annually to one young structural engineer at WALTER P MOORE to recognize design excellence, outstanding client service and business acumen. Waggoner was selected from nominees throughout the firm's nine offices nationwide. Selection committee chair Lee Slade cited Waggoner's outstanding technical and creative contributions to several of the firm's most significant projects, including four retractable-roof NFL stadiums. He has been a key member of the firm's Research & Development team, which develops design processes and learning tools. Waggoner is a senior associate and project manager in WALTER P MOORE'S Austin office and a graduate of Washington University with a bachelor's degree and the University of Texas at Austin with a master's degree.


LJA Engineering & Surveying Inc. recently announced two new hires and an appointment. Bryan W. Ice, PE, has joined LJA Engineering & Surveying Inc. as a senior project manager in the firm's Public Infrastructure Practice. Ice is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's of science in civil engineering. He also earned a bachelor's of science in mathematics from South Dakota State University. Danny Miller, PE, has joined LJA Engineering & Surveying Inc. as senior project manager in the firm's Austin office. Miller is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor's of science in civil cngineering. Jeff P. Collins, PE, PMP, has been appointed to the Management Committee of LJA, and promoted to senior vice president of LJA's Houston Public Infrastructure Practice, which includes the Transportation Division, Water Resources Division and the Water/ Wastewater Division. Collins is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor's of science in civil engineering.
