Paslay Retires From DFW International Airport
During his 25-year tenure at DFW
International Airport, Paslay led more than $4 billion in
improvements, including International Terminal D, and the
Skylink people mover.
Clay Paslay, who began his
career at DFW in 1981 as a project manager and went on to
lead more than $4 billion in airport expansion projects -
including International Terminal D and Skylink, the world's
largest airport people mover - has announced his retirement
from his position as executive vice president of airport development
to begin a construction consulting business.
Paslay's management firm will work with airports and other
large facility owners to develop strategies for executing
major capital programs.
Paslay crowned his accomplishments last year with the successful
completion of the Airport's Capital Development Program. That
$2.7 program included the 2 million-sq.-ft. International
Terminal D, the Skylink Automated People Mover system, airfield
improvements including three 2,000-ft. runway extensions as
well as many other airport infrastructure enhancements. The
project also included more than $600 million of contracts
with minority and women-owned businesses, setting new records
for diversity participation in North Texas and in the airport
industry.
Paslay was recognized nationally by Engineering-News Record
as a 2005 top newsmaker. A Fort Worth native, Paslay received
his bachelor's degree from The University of Texas - Arlington
and completed the PMD Executive Program at the Harvard Graduate
School of Business.
Skanska USA Building Inc. recently
named Frank Roetzel area general
manager, executive vice president of the firm's Houston office.
Roetzel is responsible for overall management and growth of
Skanska's Texas operations.
Prior to joining Skanska, Roetzel worked for the architectural
firm of SHWC in Dallas. Roetzel's construction experience
includes developing project teams for domestic and overseas
assignments and business development. He also has demonstrated
expertise in a variety of market sectors including several
mission-critical projects in education and aviation.
Westfall Constructors of Houston
recently announced the promotions of Jerry
O'Neill to executive vice president, Tim
Westfall to vice president of operations, Tricia
Westfall Gonzales to vice president of administration
and Gary Cykala to vice president
of construction.
Hoss Equipment Co. recently
announced that Allison Monroe
has joined the company in a market development capacity. Her
responsibilities will be to help gain wider access to the
heavy equipment markets in Brazil, Russia, India, China and
the Middle East. Monroe, a native of Dallas, lived in Jordan
for three years. She brings international contacts and first-hand
knowledge of international markets to her new position. Prior
to joining Hoss, Monroe served as the only female photo journalist
on the largest national daily Arabic newspaper and only privately
owned media source in Jordan, Al-Ghad.
Carter & Burgess
recently announced that Michelle R.
Jones has joined the firm as director of corporate
marketing. Jones brings extensive experience in corporate
branding, implementing innovative marketing strategies and
targeting and securing new business. Most recently, Jones
was vice president, global marketing, for Covansys, a publicly
traded consulting and technology services company based in
Farmington Hills, Mich. Jones earned her bachelor's degree
in management information systems from Wayne State University.
Slack & Co. Contracting Inc.
recently announced one new hire and the promotion of two long-time
employees. Alex Joseph has joined
the company as director of operations. Joseph will oversee
operations working with project managers as necessary to manage
job costs, positive client relationships and timely deliveries.
Joseph earned his undergraduate degree in civil engineering
at Texas A&M University and completed his master's in
business administration at Texas Christian University. David
Felgere has been promoted to director of preconstruction.
In this position, Felgere will oversee preconstruction services,
estimating and contract negotiations including new business
development with owners and general contractors. Cecil Dent
has been promoted to director of equipment and safety. Dent's
responsibilities include overseeing equipment purchases, maintenance
and safety.
Halff Associates recently announces
that four of its managers have been promoted to vice president.
In Halff's Dallas office, Lenny Hughes,
R.L.A. was promoted from director of landscape architecture
to vice president of landscape architecture. Also in Dallas,
Mark Janicki, P.E., J.D. was promoted from director
of right-of-way acquisition to vice president of right-of-way
acquisition. At Halff's San Antonio office, John
Perez, P.E. was promoted from regional director of
engineering to vice president and branch manager of the San
Antonio office. At Halff's McAllen office, Menton
J. "Trey" Murray, III, P.E., was promoted
from branch manager to vice president and branch manager of
the McAllen office.
HOK recently announced that Pete
Winters will transition from his management responsibilities
with the Nortel Workplace Planning and Provisioning global operation
to focus on expanding onsite services for HOK's Advance Strategies
group.
Winters is a registered architect, certified facility manager
and a member of the American Institute of Architects, International
Facilities Management Association and the Texas Society of
Architects.
