Turner Announces Executive Promotions
in Houston
New appointments bring experience
and leadership to Turner's Houston office.
Turner Construction
Co. recently announced appointments for the Houston
office - James P. Barrett, vice
president and general manager, Henry
X. Villarreal, operations manager and Kan
Phaobunjong, estimating and purchasing manager. All
Houston-area residents, Barrett,
Villarreal, and Phaobunjong
bring a wealth of local, national and international construction
experience to the leadership of the Houston office.
As vice president and general manager of the Houston office,
James P. Barrett will lead Turner's operations throughout
the South Texas region.
Barrett was most recently the business manager for the Houston
office, responsible for client development, contract negotiations
and financial reporting. He joined the company in January
1993 while still in college on a co-op assignment to the special
projects division of the Boston office. He holds a bachelor's
of arts degree in economics from Northeastern University.
With 17 years of experience in the construction industry,
Henry X. Villarreal will serve as the operations manager for
the Houston office. Villarreal has been with Turner since
1993. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management
from Texas A&M University.

Paul Basaldua was recently
hired by Yates Construction Co. as manager of business development
for its San Antonio office. Basaldua's responsibilities will
be to establish and build a firm foundation in San Antonio
and welcome new clients with the same commitment to excellence
like Yates' other national offices.
Basaldua is a graduate of St. Mary's University, where he
earned a bachelor of business administration degree.

Marceline "Marcy" Newman
recently joined Carter & Burgess Inc. Newman will be part
of the firm's Fort Worth Transportation Programs Unit. She
joins the firm as a senior transportation program manager
and has an extensive project background that includes civil
engineering design and construction management for roadways,
highways, associated structures and traffic engineering.
Newman holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from
Texas A&M University. She is a member of the American
Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of American Military
Engineers.

Faisal S. Syed has been named
managing director, civil engineering services for Walter P.
Moore's Dallas Infrastructure office. He will be responsible
for project delivery and client service, working closely with
the talented leadership team already in place. From public
works to private development, Syed - a recipient of the prestigious
Young Engineer of the Year Award - is an expert in developing
creative infrastructure engineering solutions in congested
urban centers.

Kathryn Rehm-Hisaw recently
assumed the title of president, Hisaw & Associates General
Contractors Inc., a design-build general contractor/construction
management based in Carrollton. Rehm-Hisaw was previously
executive vice president.. She joined Hisaw & Associates
in 1991 and is a graduate from the University of Las Vegas
with degrees in finance and business.

Pollyanna Held
recently joined Raba-Kistner Consultants Inc. as archaeologist
in the firm's Environmental Services Division. Held will lead
archaeological research initiatives to support environmental
and cultural resource management objectives through field
and laboratory work and publication.
Held earned her bachelor's degree in archaeology from Princeton
University and a master's from the University of Mississippi.
She has broad experience in archaeological investigations
including key contributions to cultural resource surveys of
proposed transportation improvements in Texas and Mississippi.
