Andrew P. Studdert has been
named new president and CEO of NES Rentals Holdings Inc. The
company has 12 Texas locations and is one of the industry's
largest heavy-equipment rental companies with 141 branches
nationwide.
Studdert previously served as COO of UAL Corp./United Airlines
from 1999 to 2002.
"We are delighted to have Andy join our organization,"
said John P. Neafsey, chairman of NES. "He is a dynamic
and experienced leader with a diverse background that will
greatly benefit NES as it grows and continues to capture market
share. His background and accomplishments in the transportation
sector truly set him apart from his peers."
NES Rentals is the fourth largest company in the $25 billion
equipment rental industry. The company focuses on renting
specialty and general equipment to industrial and construction
end-users. NES is the second largest supplier of traffic and
safety services to the construction industry.
Jerry L. King has joined Houston-based
ATSER as vice president of transportation. King is responsible
for all transportation-related projects for the firm in Texas.
King brings more than 40 years of extensive leadership, design
and management experience in traffic and transportation projects
in both the public and private sectors.
A licensed professional engineer, King holds a bachelor's
of science in civil engineering from the University of Texas.
He also completed training at Yale University (Bureau of Highway
Traffic); Carnegie Mellon University (Professional Urban Transportation);
and Harvard University (J.F. Kennedy School of Government).
Joe Crawford, president of
Abilene Aero, has been named to the Texas Aviation Advisory
Committee by the Texas Transportation Commission.
Crawford earned a bachelor's of business administration degree
from Baylor University in 1979. He has owned and operated
several businesses in Abilene and has devoted many years to
civic duty in the community demonstrated through his affiliations
with the board of directors of First National Bank, Abilene
Chamber of Commerce, Abilene Industrial Foundation, Hendrick
Health Care Systems and Home for Children, Baylor University
Business School, Development Corporation of Abilene, and United
Way.
The Texas Aviation Advisory Committee is comprised of six
members appointed by the Texas Transportation Commission.
Each committee member serves a three-year staggered term.
Gordon Earl Landreth of Corpus
Christi was appointed by Gov. Rick Perry as chairman of the
Texas Board of Architectural Examiners. Landreth, who is currently
a member of the board, will serve as the presiding officer.
The board regulates the practice of architecture, landscape
architecture and interior design throughout the state.
Landreth is president of Corpus Christi-based Cotten Landreth
Kramer Architects & Associates Inc. He is a member of
the American Institute of Architects and former director of
the Texas Society of Architects. Landreth received a bachelor's
degree from Texas A&M University.
Robert Lundeen has joined Carter
& Burgess Inc. as a program manager in the firm's Dallas
Facilities Unit. Lundeen brings more than 30 years of experience
in health-care facilities planning and design. He joins the
growing team of Carter & Burgess health-care design professionals
in pursuing, securing and executing health care projects.
Throughout his career, Lundeen has been associated with health-care
consulting and health-care specialized architectural firms
as well as hospital development companies. He has special
expertise in the areas of hospitals, ambulatory care centers,
women's health services facilities, medical office buildings
and diagnostic centers.
Lundeen earned a bachelor's of environmental design and bachelor's
of sociology degree from Texas A&M University as well
as a bachelor's of science in engineering from Stevens Institute
of Technology. He is affiliated with the American Institute
of Architects, the Texas Society of Architects Committee on
Architecture for Health and is certified by the National Council
of Architectural Registration Boards.
Lillian Hon and Joseph R. Maytum
of FKP Architects have each received Leadership in Energy
and Environmental Design professional accreditation by the
U. S. Green Building Council.
Hon holds a bachelor's of architecture degree from the University
of Houston and is a registered architect in the state of New
York. She is a member of the National and Houston chapters
of the American Institute of Architects as well as the Texas
Society of Architects.
Maytum holds a bachelor's of architecture degree from the
University of Houston and is a registered architect in the
state of Texas. He is a member of the National and Houston
chapters of the American Institute of Architects as well as
the Texas Society of Architects and the Rice Design Alliance.
He is also the founding member of the Community Design Resource
Center.
John Castilla and John Hero
have been named by Houston-based Gilbane Building Co., respectively,
as district manager for the Dallas/Fort Worth area and business
development manager in the Southwest region.
