LJA Engineering & Surveying Inc. announced that Wallace Trochesset, PE, vice president, has been named division manager of the firm’s East Houston office. In his new position, Trochesset will assume responsibility for the office. Wallace is a graduate of Texas A&M University with bachelor’s of science degrees in civil engineering and in engineering technology with an emphasis in civil construction. Also, Stan Cargill has assumed the role of senior consultant in the office. In this role, Cargill will provide direction and support regarding the operations of the office.
HDR announced that Ramon Miguez, a former assistant manager for the city of Dallas, has joined the firm as its north Texas engineering department manager based in Dallas. Míguez will direct the efforts of more than 105 engineering professionals.
During his 20-year tenure with the city of Dallas, Míguez oversaw a number of major initiatives, including the planned modernization of Love Field, construction of the Meyerson Symphony Center and renovation of the Cotton Bowl. Most recently, he was in charge of the city’s levee system. Míguez was named an assistant city manager in 1995.
A registered professional engineer, Míguez is a member of the American Public Works Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, Texas Society of Professional Engineers, International City and County Management Association and Society of Hispanic Engineers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute announced the appointment of John Turner, PE, as the new greater southwestern region manager. In this position, Turner will be responsible for managing all CRSI technical, educational, promotional and membership activities in Texas. Turner has a master’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering from Texas Tech University.

Powers Brown Architecture of Houston announced that James Halloran has joined as a senior designer in the Interiors Studio. Halloran is a graduate of The University of Houston Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture. Also, Desta Kimmel has joined as a marketing coordinator. Kimmel is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
FKP Interiors in Houston announced that Kristin Ledet, IIDA, has joined as interior design manager. Ledet is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s of interior design.
Adolfson & Peterson Construction in Dallas has hired Terry Loreth as vice president of operations for its Texas region. Also, Patrick Peaden is transitioning to a new role as vice president of development.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District is now under the charge of Col. Richard J. Muraski, Jr, assuming command from Col. Christopher W. Martin. Martin will be with Forces Command at Fort McPherson, Ga.
