New Class A Space Planned for Fort Worth's
Sundance Square
A 16-story office building is planned for Sundance Square
at Lamar and East Third streets in downtown Fort Worth. The
300,000-sq.-ft., Class A building is expected to open in June
2008. The building is named The Carnegie in recognition of
its proximity to the Fort Worth Public Library, which was
inspired by Fort Worth's original Carnegie Library.
The building will be the first to be constructed in Sundance
Square since 2002.
"Sundance Square has come to be known as the prestige
location for the highest quality Class A office space in downtown
Fort Worth," said Ed Bass, who is leading the project
development. "The Carnegie will continue the tradition,
with terrific proximity to all of Sundance Square's amenities."
David M. Schwarz/Architectural Services, Inc. is designing
the building.
"It is really exciting to keep working in downtown Fort
Worth," said David Schwarz, principal of David M. Schwarz/Architectural
Services.
The Projects Group will oversee construction of the new tower
that will begin by winter.
Tesoro to Build New Corporate
HQ Campus in San Antonio
Tesoro Corp., an independent refiner and marketer of petroleum
products, has announced that it will construct a new corporate
headquarters campus in San Antonio. The campus will be located
in a new Class A master-planned office park being developed
by Patrinely Group of Houston at the intersection of U.S.
Hwy. 281 N. and Redland Road, north of Loop 1604.
Company growth over the past several years has forced Tesoros'
employee base to be divided into two separate buildings in
San Antonio. The new campus will bring all Tesoro employees
back together in one location.
The new master-planned office park will be located on 122
acres of land on San Antonio's north side. Tesoro's corporate
campus will utilize a portion of the property and will include
approximately 600,000 sq. ft. of office space.
The Houston office of Gensler has been chosen to design the
overall master plan for the park, in addition to Tesoro's
new headquarters campus, which is scheduled to be completed
in 2009.
Engineering work is being done by San Antonio-based Pape-Dawson
Engineers Inc.
