Center for Targeted Therapy
PROJECT COST: $70,000,000
The Center for Targeted Therapy project is a 210,000-sq-ft addition to the Center for Advanced Biomedical Imaging Research and will accommodate the growth of existing research programs. The structural system is reinforced concrete beams and columns supported by drilled and under-reamed piers. For vibration-sensitive research equipment, the elevated floors were designed to meet a maximum vibration velocity of 2000 mips. An isolated slab-on-grade was designed for NMR equipment. The building will connect to the existing imaging research building on all six floors. It will join with the future University of Texas Health Science Center Research Park Complex via a 300-ft underground tunnel.
