Grand Prairie Public Safety Building and Activity Center
PROJECT COST: $80,000,000

It includes conference rooms, a new crime lab, expanded interview rooms, additional parking and the latest technology.
The Active Adult Center, also scheduled to open April 2010, offers recreational amenities for adults. The 59,000-sq-ft facility features an indoor aquatics center. The center also includes a small gym for basketball and volleyball, a fitness area, aerobics room, two classrooms, a display and sales room and a game room with billiards, darts, a big-screen television and access to a coffee bar. A walking area on the second floor features glass tunnels and views of the lake. The building also includes a 100-seat theater, banquet room with sliding walls, a dining room and full service commercial kitchen.
