Texas Children’s Hospital Maternity Center
Project Cost: $430,000,000
Texas Children’s Hospital’s new 796,000-sq-ft maternity center will include a 15-floor maternity hospital, clinic and office space as well as some pediatric components built over a 532,000-sq-ft, sub-grade, four-level parking garage. Focused on high-risk deliveries, the maternity center will connect with the current Texas Children’s Hospital campus via a signature elliptical bridge. The two-level bridge provides private passage for patients on the upper floor, while the public will travel between buildings on the lower level.
The initial phase of the project will serve an estimated 5,000 births per year. The ultimate site will encompass 1.9 million sq. ft. with two 28-story towers serving both obstetric and pediatric patients.
Internationally renowned for its fetal and newborn programs, Texas Children’s Hospital will be able to offer obstetric care for the first time with the addition of the new maternity center.
