New Judson High School
PROJECT COST: $85,219,210
The Judson High School project is a new two-story high school facility that includes administration, academic instruction spaces, a resource learning center, kitchen and commons (cafeteria), athletic, art, band and choir facilities. The new building will adjoin an existing performing arts center. Site amenities include a bus loop, parking, soccer, baseball and softball, tennis courts and sports practice fields.
The facility’s design incorporates “career clusters” focused on each of four specific occupational groups: transportation, agriculture, health science and arts, and A/V technology and communications. The career clusters form the backbone of the high school and include exhibit space, an assistant principal/counselor suite, a large group instruction room, science labs and associated preparation areas, facilities for the specific occupational pathway, and areas for student collaboration. Each cluster has its own entry or “identity” to the main hallway, allowing for the personality of the cluster to be displayed and student work to be showcased.
