University of Texas-Arlington Engineering Research Complex
PROJECT COST: $106,735,359
Phase I of the University of Texas at Arlington Engineering Research Complex consists of the renovation and addition of a third floor to the existing two-story Engineering Laboratory Building. Upon completion, the building will total 90,000 sq ft and is anticipated to be LEED certified.
The building’s second phase involves new construction of a six-story, 240,000-sq-ft Engineering Research Building to house research labs, teaching labs, computer system labs, senior design labs and numerous offices for faculty and graduate research assistants of the Computer Science and Engineering department. The project also includes labs and offices for the Biomedical Engineering department and 75,000-sq-ft of research/teaching space for the College of Science. The research building is expected to achieve LEED Silver status.
