New Burleson High School #2

PROJECT COST: $117,500,000

New Burleson High School #2

At 547,550 sq ft, the New Burleson High School #2 is one of the largest high schools in Texas. The facility sits on a 152-acre site and will accommodate 2,000 ninth through 12th grade students.

Crews have faced site access challenges from day one. A delay in the purchase of the property for the main access to the site prevented any concrete paving for eight months. The prohibited use of any adjacent roads by the city – as well as Texas Dept. of Transportation’s timing in the resurfacing of the main road to the project – required the contractor to find creative ways to access the site. The lack of available water during mass excavation required considerable coordination with city and county utility personnel.
