Ranking of Texas' Top Design Firms

Text size: A A

In this year’s Top Design ranking, URS Corp. takes the No. 1 spot, with more than $342.3 million in Texas billings during 2008.

Texas Construction’s annual ranking of the state’s Top Design Firms this year includes 90 architectural and engineering firms, down from last year’s 95. Despite the slightly lower participation, however, this year’s Top Design ranking represents an upturn in collective billings. Together, the 90 firms listed here generated approximately $2.9 billion in billings from Texas projects during the 2008 calendar year, the timeframe for this ranking. That’s up from last year’s $2.6 billion total for collective billings.

Additionally, worldwide revenue soared. Collectively, ranked firms reported approximately $28.5 billion, much higher than the $19-billion total of a year ago.

The Top Design ranking is based upon company-provided information indicating each firm’s 2008 billings figures for projects performed in Texas.
